Men’s Fashion Week Roundup
Posted by Lucky on Jun 30, 2010

For those of you who have lives beyond fashion (sadly I do not!), you might be unaware that for the last two weeks some of the best designers in the world have been showing their new menswear collections. Now it took me a while to get to grips with the season, it actually still leaves me a bit baffled now, but this time it was for Spring Summer 2011 – yes, next year! You might be thinking that we still have this summer and the whole of the winter to get through first, but the fast paced world of fashion waits for no one. Time to fast forward a year.
First was Milan with the likes of Alexander McQueen, Burberry, D&G, Armani, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prada and my favourite, our very own Vivienne Westwood showing. Paris was after with Dior, Louis Vuitton, Dunhill, Paul Smith and the very showy Viktor and Rolf.
To go through all the shows would take too long (and would use WAY to many adjectives!), so here’s just a few to give you an insight into next season…
Alexander McQueen:
New creative director Sarah Burton paid homage to the fashion great with her first collection. Sophisticated, English tones came from the tuxedo jackets, light trench coats and wider shaped trousers. Muted tones took over with neutral colours, some greys and one rather weirdly placed redy-orange number!
