Cheryl Cole adopts military mode for X Factor audition fashion battle with glittering guest judge Katy Perry

After making a major comeback with her album Circus and massive tour, it was only natural for Britney Spears to capitalize on the recent stream of success. So this week we’ll see the fruits of her labor in a different area — fashion — as she unveils a collection of clothing and accessories for Candie’s, the company for which she serves as current poster girl.
We remember Spears most fondly for her at the VMAs and but Spears’ line is thankfully less costume-y. She tells that a slick black trench coat and studded skirt are among her favorites in the juniors’ collection. Not too shabby, Brit. Personally, I’m digging the gray leather jacket.
She likes to keep us guessing with her outfit choices for the X Factor auditions.
And yesterday, Cheryl Cole went for a relatively simple look in a low-key khaki playsuit, which she teamed with black Christian Louboutin heels and a black cinch belt.
The singer, who turns 27 tomorrow, added extra glam with the help of some long gold earrings.
But then she knew she had to make an extra effort with Katy Perry as a guest judge on the panel.
