Our London Fashion Week blog
Posted by Lucky on Feb 19, 2010

It’s February, it’s freezing, but it’s Fashion Week! And here at YOU we are ready and raring.
Welcome to the YOU View, where you’ll find the YOU take on London’s five-day moment under the fashion flashbulb.
We’ll feedback on the clothes and the shows, but also on the people, the parties and the goings-on that we love so much about Fashion Week, but rarely get a chance to share in the magazine.
This is where we selflessly devote our weekend to sneaking backstage at all the collections – from controversial Mark Fast to classic Pringle – and gossiping with the city’s most stylish at afterparty after afterparty… Notepads, heels and energy at the ready.
So, on the eve of LFW A/W 2010 what are the YOU team most excited about?
Editor Sue Peart will be front row for YOU’s evergreen favourites Betty Jackson and Jaeger London; Caroline Baker, our legendary fashion director is looking forward to headline stealer Burberry: ‘It’s so great to see it here again in London, my guess is that Christopher Bailey [creative director] will be on the same romantic vibe that Marc Jacobs is on to in New York - lots of fabulous clothes that I can relate to and be inspired by.’
Fashion editor Katie Lester will be making a beeline for Mulberry, ‘I’m keen to know what new bag will become 2010’s answer to the Alexa and whether it will be on my wish list!’ Fashion assistant Sinead O’Connell will be on hand at Unique with her trusty Flip camera ‘because they always have the best celebrity turn-out’, while designated party correspondent Amy Williams will be donning dancing shoes for the Christopher Kane party at Shoreditch House as well as making a detour to walk the red carpet as fashion spy at Sunday’s Baftas.
And not forgetting our ever bang-on-trend fashion assistant Philippa Bloom who can’t wait for the William Tempest show and Pam Hogg at OnOff. She will also be first in line to see what this year’s Fashion Week eco-bag design will be (watch this space – we’ll be telling you tomorrow).
In between the daily blog update you can follow both Amy and Sinead at www.twitter.com/amywilliamsYOU and www.twitter.com/sineadYOU
Happy Fashion Week.
