Madonna possibly launching fashion line

The Queen of Pop is in talks to launch her own clothing line, which will only be exclusive to US departmental store Macy’s. The line is said to include apparel, accessories, intimates and footwear.
This will not be Madonna’s first venture into fashion, having previously designed for Swedish clothing company, H&M in 2007. She has also appeared in numerous ads by fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Versace, and GAP, and currently appears in Dolce & Gabbana’s spring advertising campaign.
According to sources in ‘Women’s Wear Daily’, label names for the clothing line will be named after highlights from the singer’s career. Some names under serious consideration are ‘Material Girl’ for apparel and ‘Truth or Dare’ for lingerie and underwear. ‘Truth or Dare’ may not be a song but it is the title of Madonna’s 1991 film which documented her groundbreaking ‘Blonde Ambition’ tour.
Attempts to obtain comments from the ‘Hung Up’ singer’s longtime publicist, Liz Rosenberg, were not met and Macy’s have declined to comment on the issue.
If the 51-year-old’s plans come to fruition, Madonna will be added to the list of stars who have experimented with fashion. ’Sex and the City’ star Sarah Jessica Parker has been named Halston’s chief creative officer and president. Beyoncé and her mother, Tina Knowles, have launched a line called House of Deréon. Beyoncé has also recently launched her own fragrance, ‘Heat’, with Coty Inc.
