The sold-out Parisian-themed luncheon benefiting CHOC Children’s will be held at The Resort at Pelican Hill Monday, 02.01.2010 / 6:58 PM / News The Ducks hold their 2010 Lady Ducks Fashion Show this Friday, Feb. 5 at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast beginning at 11 a.m. Friday’s luncheon serves as the third annual event of its kind and will benefit the Anaheim Ducks Foundation with 100% of the proceeds going toward CHOC Children’s (CHOC). The sold-out Fashion Show will feature Ducks players modeling alongside CHOC Ambassadors (current and former CHOC patients). The entire Ducks roster, coaches and the club’s executive management team will also be in attendance.

This year’s Fashion Show will boast a European flavor with “Parisian-themed” décor. Black, white and yellow will serve as the signature colors of the event, which will be co-hosted by E! News Executive Editor Ken Baker and Ducks television personality Kent French. Catwalk veterans Ryan Getzlaf, George Parros, Teemu Selanne and Scott Niedermayer will return to the stage, joined by modeling newcomers Jonas Hiller, Saku Koivu, Todd Marchant and Corey Perry. The eight Ducks players will sport attire provided by Saks Fifth Avenue, South Coast Plaza. Eight CHOC Ambassadors will also showcase the latest fashions from Quiksilver and Roxy provided by Quiksilver #29, South Coast Plaza. Preceding the Ducks and CHOC Ambassador portion of the program, runway models will feature Spring 2010 Trends, also presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, South Coast Plaza. Recording artists The Beach Girl5 are slated to perform during the fashion show.

“On behalf of the Lady Ducks, we’re grateful to all of our sponsors and donors for once again supporting this annual event,” said Event Chair Caroline Marchant, wife of Ducks center Todd Marchant. “We hope to continue our work at CHOC as we concentrate our efforts this year toward the CHOC Children’s Orthopaedic Institute.”

Friday’s luncheon menu was created exclusively for the event by Pelican Hill executive chef Jean-Pierre Dubray. Guests will enjoy a butter lettuce salad with toasted pecan vinaigrette, followed by a main course of roasted chicken and sautéed golden apples. Dessert will echo the Parisian theme as Dubray has created a French raspberry macaroon with crème fraiche and strawberry sorbet for the occasion. The Limon Cello Martini will serve as the signature cocktail of the event, courtesy of Blue Ice Vodka. Brown-Forman, one of the largest American-owned companies in the wine and spirits business, has also donated wine for the luncheon.

Tables for the sold-out event were purchased for $2,500 and up, based on level of sponsorship package. Guests in attendance can also help raise funds for CHOC by bidding on a variety of unique live and silent auctions. Highlighted live auction items include dinner for eight at the Anaheim White House with restaurant owner Bruno Serato and Ducks forward Bobby Ryan, and a private one-hour jam session with Ryan and fellow Ducks winger Joffrey Lupul. A number of one-of-a-kind silent auction items will include a visit with Ducks Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray in his press box booth during a game and VIP tickets to serve as audience members for “Dancing with the Stars” season 10 and E! Entertainment’s “Chelsea Lately.” “Surprise Puck” boxes will also be available for purchase (one for $25 or five for $100). Each box will contain an autographed puck from a Ducks player and six random boxes of the 400 for sale will contain lucky prizes, including gift certificates to South Coast Plaza, jewelry from De Beers Diamond Jewelers and made-to-measure cashmere sweaters.
