‘Jersey Shore’ at New York Fashion Week? The fashionistas ain’t havin’ it

It’s no secret the “Jersey Shore” cast has been creepin’ for front row seats at New York Fashion Week. There’s even buzz that they’ll get the chance to actually walk a runway.
While show fans may be beating down the beat over the news, actual fashionistas doubt “Shore” style should be associated with the uber-haute event.
That’s scary,” Fern Mallis, Fashion Week’s alpha-female, told New York Magazine after they informed her that “Shore” fashion was catching on. “Hard to use fashion in the same sentence with that.”
Mallis’ comment was actually tame compared to what other fashion insiders are saying.
“It’s a nightmare,” an unnamed fashion publicist responsible for seating at shows told StyleList. “Nobody wants any of those kids anywhere near their brand.”
Another source put it pretty succinctly: “They’re [expletive] peasants.” Meow.
We’ll be scanning the front row for hair poofs when New York Fashion week starts on Thu. Feb. 11.
