Fashion designer announces plans to revamp hospital gowns

Although a trip to the E.R. can hardly compare to a stroll down the red carpet, patients in the U.K. my soon be donning designer duds in hospital hallways.
The BBC reports that fashion designer Ben de Lisi is in the process of recreating the standard dressing gown, which has been long criticized for its immodest cut.
By replacing the current standard garment, de Lisi hopes to help patients across the kingdom feel more comfortable and dignified while they are ill.
Although the gowns will not be unveiled until next month, de Lisi’’s early designs are made of cotton shirting and do not feature any Velcro.
The new collection will also include pajama bottoms, sleepwear and slippers, according to the media outlet.
De Lisi told the news source that the designs are intended to feel “fabulous and inspirational” and be ” infinitely dignified, yet practical.”
Initiatives to improve hospital garb has already begun in Bristol, where city officials say trials of revamped wraparound gowns have produced positive feedback thus far, the Washington Post reports.
