Take the two biggest pop sensations of 2009, both fearless fashion followers, add stage outfits, catwalk looks and killer stylists, oh and the fashion world on speed dial. What do you get? The fashion fash-off of the year!… or should that be decade?
From girl-next door to quiffed, shaved hair and dramatic make-up; Rihanna’s fash-over was an overnight sensation. She makes sporty street-wear look fresh and edgy and runway looks her own, from Louis Vuitton to Balmain it’s all in the attitude and man does Rihanna know how to work it.
Then BANG! Enter Lady Gaga, we can’t separate her underwear from her outerwear, her stage outfits from her party looks and anyone who wear’s a ball gown to a London restaurant (for lunch with her dad) is fashion-bonkers in our book. Love her or loathe her Lady Gaga made hair-bows the ’do du jour for 2009 and her outrageous get-ups have ensured the fashion world sit-up and take notice- from Herve Leger to Maison Martin Margiela, Gaga she goes for the lot! We can’t wait to see what camp Rihanna and Gaga bring us next year…ladies, sit back and enjoy the show!
