Rehane’s preview fashion show in Chennai

It was an evening of much excitement at designer Rehane’s preview fashion show where she showcased a bold new collection that is based on Grushenka, a character from the book The Brothers Karamazov.
The collection bears the designer’s trademark — very feminine clothes that have an edge. “Full skirts are very much in this season. The colours that I have used are from a palette that I don’t generally use — blues and aqua greens. I have used a lot of computer cut embroidery and there is a lot of cord and thread work,” she says, adding, “There is nothing bling in the collection; it is very subtle and lowbrow.” According to her, the only thing that talks in this line-up is the strong silhouette. Although the collection has a lot of molten metallic — antiquated copper, silver and gold, there is no feeling of bling. The evening was rounded off over delicious short eats and a healthy exchange of fashion notes.
