Dressed for distress!

Today foreclosure is so common it almost appears to be fashionable.

Hard earned dollars go into the purchase of a house. People save and invest in property in hopes of saving money and selling at a profit. Those days seem at least temporarily gone.

The home should be a safe haven and grounding point. To be served with papers telling you that your home will be taken is a horrible and very frightening feeling. Homes hold many memories including parents who might have owned the home in the past or a place where you watched your children grow.

So how can fashion help during a crisis. While fashion costs money it can sometimes help your spirits. Here are some tips that just might make you feel a bit better:

1. Avoid wearing vampire colors. While Twighlight is popular those shades are not a good choice. Colors to avoid are black, gray and blue.

2. Three good color choices are yellow, green and purple. Yellow is cheerful while green is tranquil and purple spiritual.

3. If you can afford $5 take yourself to World Thrift and buy something new. The mere act of going out helps with depression. Being kind to yourself helps more. Don’t feel guity. If $5 is too much do not do it. There are plenty more tips.

4. Try to not wear the same outfit everday. You might find yourself pulling on that single black unitard because you don’t care or don’t have the energy.

5.Dress for comfort. You can’t feel good if you are not comfortable.

6. Try to smile. A smile is an accessory. You can be beautifully dressed but a frown ruins the look.

7. Don’t let the pain age you. Drink as much water as you can.  Stress and lack of sleep is a health and fashion hazard.

8. Be grateful. As bad as certain situations are they could be worse. Gratitude for friends, family, health, kind stangers helps with your overall look.

There is no shame in foreclosure! People react positively to color and attitude. Looking good and projecting a positive outlook can be helpful in moving gracefully through a bad situation.

Make every step you take be  more beautiful then your last. Things will get better.
