Celebrity fashion ‘over’

Rock + Republic’s Andrea Bernholtz thinks celebrity fashion collaborations are over.
The company president insists the label, which teamed up with Victoria Beckham for a range of jeans, called VB Rocks, in 2004, is now going in a new direction.
Andrea said: “The capsule collection with Victoria really came about very naturally. It was an easy thing to do – because she was a friend and liked the product – but that was for then. I really think celebrity collaborations have seen their height. It was a long time ago, we’re doing something new now.”
Despite being best known for its denim line, Rock + Republic also has ranges of make-up, shoes, handbags and maternity wear.
Andrea is delighted with the way the brand has grown, particularly as it is now a firm favourite among celebrities.
She explained to Vogue.com: “We have dressed Ciara for her latest tour, Beyonce Knowles wore the make-up for her tour.
“We’re very fortunate because people from Miley Cyrus to Steve Tyler are fans and that helps customers see that anyone can wear it. Farrah Fawcett, God rest her soul, was a huge fan.”
